A Trusted Non-Profit Charity Organization

The Daughters of Charity of Saint Vincent de Paul is a global society of apostolic life founded in France in 1633 by Saint Vincent de Paul and Saint Louise de Marillac. Breaking away from traditional cloistered monastic life of the era, the founders envisioned a revolutionary model of religious devotion: consecrated women living not behind convent walls, but actively walking the streets to serve Christ directly in the person of the poor and marginalized.

Their charism centers on corporal and spiritual works of mercy performed with humility, simplicity, and charity. Today, tens of thousands of sisters serve across more than ninety countries worldwide. Their diverse ministries encompass rural healthcare clinics, mobile dispensaries, leprosaria, specialized schools, non-formal education centers, orphanages, elder care facilities, and community empowerment initiatives.

In India, including regions across the North Indian Province, the sisters focus on grassroots interventions in remote and impoverished communities. They run literacy drives, uplift marginalized women through vocational self-help groups, provide emergency relief, and care for neglected populations such as street children and leprosy patients. Through over nearly four centuries of devoted service, the Daughters of Charity continue to embody compassionate accompaniment and human dignity for the most vulnerable.
